Why do I need a website maintenance plan?
No matter the size or purpose of a business, having a website is a digital asset of modern operations. In today’s digital landscape, websites can be to success and the importance of having a secure, optimised website means businesses must take all the necessary precautions to protect their online presence.
Can I maintain my website myself instead of signing up for a plan?
Yes, ofcourse you can. Your website will continue looking and working as normal for a while but soon you will notice warning, glitches, performance issues and things may stop working. You may be able to update some things yourself, but others may become more tricky and easily break your website. Considering you’ve invested so much in your website already we don’t recommend this option, but it’s still an option nonetheless.
How often do you update my website?
We will run updates on your website atleast once a month. This seems to be the opimal period of which plugins, themes and software versions should be maintained. Yes, plugins, themes and software are sometimes updates more frequently than this, but it is important not to jump the gun and update too quickly either as sometimes developers release new versions without fully testing their compatibility with every other plugin, theme or software, so checks and tests must be first performed to ensure they are running smoothly when updated on your website.
Can you just fix something on my website without a care plan?
Yes ofcourse we can look into trying to resolve whatever issue you currently have on your website, but please be aware that this is not part of our website care plans. This would be consider ad-hoc type website work instead and billed based on the time taken.
What isn't in your website care plan?
Our website care plans exclude content updates, including but not limited to copy changes, image changes, layout updates, design updates, new content additions, new plugin installations, new theme installations and email management.
Website care plans also do not include the cost of website hosting and domain names.
What website platforms do you provide care plans for?
We offer website care plans predominantely for WordPress built websites; however can also offer plans for Shopify, Wix, Squarespace and more.
What if my website got hacked or goes down?
Our website care plans are designed to help keep your website software and hardware as up to date as possible to help avoid mailware and hacking, but if it does get hacked while on our care plan we can restore to the last working version via regularly made backups.
If your website does ever get hacked or goes down for an extended period of time, we will liase directly with your website hosting provider (on your behalf) to re-instate the most recent stable backup of your website. To date we haven’t had to do this yet!
Please note that if your website becomes compromised due to careless sharing of administrative access (eg: sharing passwords, installing vulnerable content, installing vulnerable plugins or themes, etc), this may incur additional fees to resolve.
Is there a cancellation fee?
Absolutely not. You are paying upfront each website maintenance period. For example, if you join today, you are paying for one quarter (or one month or one year) from todays date. If you choose to cancel prior to when the next payment period is due, you do not need to pay any exit or cancellation fees. You will also continue to recieve maintenance on your website until your payment period is completed, unless you choose otherwise.
Refunds may only be requested with 48 hours of payment of a new or recurring plan.
Will you optimise my website for speed and performance?
Yes, this is part of the website care plan. We will do everything possible to keep your website well optimised for speed, performance and efficiency. Please note that this can also be subject to the content on your website and hosting providers facilities.
Do website care plans include hosting?
No. Website hosting is an entirely different thing and incur different fees. Website hosting is essentially the fee for storing your website files and lies with the hostin provider you have selected to host your website with.
Do you offer SEO updates as part of maintenance?
Sorry, no. This is a separate service. If you would like to know about our SEO website plans, please do not hesitate to ask.
What if I have multiple website that I'd like care plans for?
In general each website has its own website care plan, however depending on how many additional websites you have, we may be able to offer you a bulk discount.
Do you provide reports on what’s been done each month?
Yes, this is part of our care plans. You will recieve detailed reports each month which include information on what has been updated, backups, security scans and more.
Can you maintain a website that was built by someone else?
Yes ofcourse.
